APRIL 5, 1953 – NOVEMBER 4, 2016

Kay was born on April 5, 1953, the third of twelve children of Marylyn and Marion Karecki. She died of cancer at home on Friday, November 4, 2016. Kay loved life and created a great sense of fun in everything she did, and she achieved stellar heights in her professional life. Kay was a valued member of Xerox Corporation, serving for 36 years and winning the President’s Club award 15 times. Kay was an accomplished equestrian in show-jumping, trails challenge and dressage. Kay was a member of the Southlake Mounted Patrol, a courtesy patrol that worked to preserve and maintain local trails. All of these activities displayed the high level horsemanship that Kay exhibited. She was also a champion bodybuilder, winning 17 competitions in a row, and was approached to turn professional. Kay was a loyal and generous friend. Although not originally from Texas, she chose to remain in Texas after her family moved away when she was 18. There was nowhere else in the world she’d rather live. Kay, we give thanks for your life and the joy you brought to others. All of us miss your free spirit, sassy sense of humor and beautiful smile. You made a special place in the lives of many and your passing will be deeply felt. Kay was preceded in death by her parents Marylyn and Marion, and her sister Jean. Kay is survived by siblings Janet, Amy, Richard, Sue, Ellen, Paul, Mary, Stephen, Beth and David. She will be sorely missed by nieces and nephews Amber, Chad, Abby, Harry, Riley, Spencer, Ruby, Ingrid and Sean, and her beloved horse Sarah. A memorial service to celebrate Kay’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at: Bluebonnet Funeral Home and Memorial Park5725 Colleyville Blvd. Colleyville TX 76034 Remembrances may be made in the form desired by friends.
