 MURPHY, NEIL G., was born August 7, 1953, in Floral Park, NY, and died peacefully at his home in Dallas on April 25, 2003, after a 2-year battle with lung cancer. Neil was a devoted and loving son, brother, father and uncle. He loved to laugh, read, write, play poker with his brothers and spend time with family and friends. For many years, he was a valued employee in the convention services division of Freeman Decorating Company. His father, Henry Neil Murphy, and brothers Colin and Robert Murphy preceded Neil in death. He is survived by his mother, Catherine L. Murphy; daughter Kerry Michelle Soniat; sister Mary Thomas and her husband Bob; brother Brian and his wife Susie, brother Jim and his wife Jerri, brother Terry and his wife Carol, brother Sean and his wife Carol, brother Hugh and his wife Peggy, and brother Mike and his wife Stacie, and by many nieces and nephews. Neil is also survived by a loving group of very close and dear friends who with his family loved him, laughed with him, supported him, comforted him and cared for him in his last weeks, including Bonnie Davis, James Klingensmith, Peter Leonard and Penny Kent-Snyder. A memorial mass will be held to celebrate Neil\'s life on Tuesday, May 6, 2003, 2:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3826 Gilbert Avenue (and Oak Lawn), Dallas, Texas 75219. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember Neil with a donation to the cancer fighting or research charity of your choice.
